National Day of Lithuania
Lithuanians celebrate their National Day on 16 February.

On 16 February 1918 in Vilnius the Act of Reinstating Independence of Lithuania has been signed and independent State of Lithuania proclaimed.
Lithuania has two national days less than a month apart. On 11 March the country celebrates the Restoration of Independence Day marking the declaration of independence from the Soviet Union in 1990.
It is important to mention that this year the capital of Lithuania celebrates its 700th anniversary.
Happy National Day and Grand Birthday of Vilnius!
