Starting January 1, 2026, Kraków will implement a low emission zone, introducing new rules for entering parts of the city. It will cover approximately 60 percent of Kraków's area. The change will not affect the daily lives of residents and visitors in most cases, but it's worth having verified information about what will actually be required and from whom.

After the April meeting of Night Mayors in Kraków, the city is strengthening its cooperation with other local governments in support of a sustainable night. On 25 September, at the Multicultural Center in Zabłocie, the Mayor of Kraków, Aleksander Miszalski, met with foreign residents of the city and representatives of organizations supporting national minorities. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Mayor Maria Klaman and Adam Spyra, Director of the Department for Foreigners at the Małopolska Provincial Office.

On September 8, 2025 Mayor Aleksander Miszalski met with Gretchen McKeever Cureton, the recently appointed U.S. Consul General in Kraków. This was her first, courtesy visit to the City Hall. 

The Sustainable Night-Time Economy Commission has reviewed its first year in operation. In August 2024, mayor Aleksander Miszalski appointed a 30-member task force chaired by Kraków’s first night mayor, Jacek Jordan.

The contemporary art exhibition “Wondersome and Peculiar Voyages,” featuring Kraków–Macau artist duo Marta Stanisława Sala and Cheong Kin Man, will remain on view at Lisbon’s Museum of the Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre (CCCM) until 17 August 2025. The extension was announced by the CCCM. The project was prepared in partnership with the City of Kraków.  

Former Mayor of Kraków Jacek Majchrowski received the Grand Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta from the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda. The honor is one of the highest civilian distinctions conferred by the Polish state.

The 66th International Mathematical Olympiad was held on Australia’s Sunshine Coast and ended in resounding success for the Poles. Polish students tied with Japan for fourth place — their best result in over 50 years! Among the talented youngsters were two students from Kraków’s Fifth Lyceum: Magdalena Pudełko and Antoni Mazur.

The Consulate General of Georgia in Kraków is the newest diplomatic mission established in our city. Consul General Ioseb Khakhaleishvili began his mission in February 2025.
