Smok lekarz nawiązuje do historia kompleksu szpitali na Wesołej i dziejów medycyny krakowskiej. Ul. Okoliczne budynki służyły służbie zdrowia i pacjentom.

The Doctor Dragon alludes to the history of the Wesoła hospital complex and the history of Krakow medicine. For many decades, Mikołaja Kopernika Street was associated by Cracovians with university clinics and the Collegium Medicum, the medical centre of Krakow. The surrounding buildings served the health service and patients. These facilities were constructed beginning in the 19th century. Like most public buildings of the late 19th century, they combined majesty with beauty of form. The complex was expanded until it was finally mostly moved to the new premises of the University Hospital in Prokocim. A Wesoła cultural complex is to be built on the site of the former hospital buildings, which will comprise, among other things, the Library of Krakow building and a cultural cluster surrounded by green space.
The dragon with the doctor's stethoscope will certainly fit in with this setting, as some of the hospital facilities nearby are still in use, and besides, it is always good to be reminded of more than a century of the development of medicine in Krakow right here. It is possible that the dragon will also be a mascot for the medical students who use the academic buildings nearby.
