600 portraits for the 600th anniversary of Joan of Arc's birthday
Are you an artist? Respond to the City of Orléans' call and join their action by creating your own image of Joan of Arc – French national heroine and patron saint of Orléans.
On the occasion of Joan of Arc's 600th birthday in 2012 the City of Orléans decided to honour its heroine by joining the project of Orleans' Association l’art O’contemporain.
The project involves the creation of a unique gallery of Joan of Arc's portraits, consisting of exactly 600 works. Artists around the world have been invited to participate in the project – including those from Orléans' partner cities.
Images of the Maid of Orléans can differ in technique, therefore we would like to invite all artists, sculptors, engravers, photographers to send their works to organisers by 15 October 2011.
