The European Network Cities for Children:

The Act of Foundation of the European Network Cities for Children, which at present comprises 50 cities from over 25 European countries, was signed during the foundation forum which was held in Stuttgart on 25-26 June 2007, on the initiative of Robert Bosch Stiftung. Operating under the patronage of UNICEF, the European Commission, the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe and the Council of European Municipalities and Regions, as well as cooperating with other organizations (the European Child Friendly Cities Network, EUROCITIES), the Network Cities for Children provides its members with the opportunity to exchange experiences in the domain of activities aimed at solving the problems of children, youth and families in urban environments as well as with support for innovative development and durable family policy suitable for the European demographic situation. The Network's activities (e.g. informational ones) are coordinated by the Office of the Commissioner for Children's Affairs of the City of Stuttgart. The Commissioner for Children's Affairs reports directly to the Mayor of Stuttgart.

A decision on the accession of Krakow to the European Network Cities for Children was adopted by the Krakow City Council by Resolution no. XVI/187/07 dated 13 June 2007. At the same time, Krakow became one of the founding cities of the organization. From the very beginning, Krakow has been actively participating in the Network Cities for Children projects.

Coordination of cooperation:

Marzena Paszkot, Plenipotentiary of the Mayor of Kraków for Family
