European City Network – European Capital of Democracy

The European City Network (ECN), an initiative of the European Capital of Democracy (ECoD), is a group of committed cities across Europe that are leaders in promoting democracy. These cities actively participate in the network's activities, sharing knowledge and best practices in promoting democracy at the local level. The European Capital of Democracy is an initiative promoting local democracy, civic participation, and innovation in urban governance. The network was established in 2022 to enable cities to exchange experiences on urban democracy and jointly implement projects on a European scale. The organization brings together 24 cities from 15 countries.

Kraków has been a member of  ECoD since 2025, pursuant to the Resolution of the Kraków City Council no. XXXIX/820/25 of 29 October 2025.

Membership fee:

5000 EURO per each accredited event.
