On Friday, 30 August in the Main Market Square an Indonesian Cultural and Coffee Festival, a vibrant two day event, was officialy inaugurated by H.E. Siti Nugraha Mauludiah the Ambassador of Indonesia to Poland and Anna Korfel-Jasińska Deputy Mayor of Krakow. 

Following discussions during 15th World Congress of OWHC in Krakow, in the recent Board of Directors voting Warsaw has been chosen as the new seat of the Regional Secrtariat of OWHC. On the recommendation of the Secretary General the Board of Directors may approve the creation of the new regional secretariat at its next meeting (in the autumn of 2019) and issue a certificate of recognition.
Secretariat of the Organization of World Heritage Cities also prepared the statistics and review of the most successful 15th World Congress of OWHC that took place in Krakow from June 2 to June 5, 2019.

Following the successful OWHC Congress, Kraków has yet again gained international acclaim. On June 17th in Geneva, the Lutheran World Federation decided to hold the 2023 event in our city.

With the support of almost 100 cities from around the globe, Krakow was elected to the Board of Directors of the Organization of World Heritage Cities and the Mayor of Krakow became the organization’s President. “Thank you for putting your trust in us in Korea and choosing Krakow to host the 15^th Congress of the OWHC. Thank you putting your trust in us yet again when you elected Krakow to become a member of the Board of Directors and thank you for the presidency. It is a double honour which fills us with great pride and joy.” emphasized Mayor of Krakow Jacek Majchrowski.

On 28 May 2019 B. Bix Aliu paid his final visit as U.S. Consul General in Kraków to Mayor Jacek Majchrowski. After nine month of service Consul Aliu ends his diplomatic mission in Kraków to move to Warsaw where he will take on the role of Deputy Head of Mission. Before coming to Kraków as Consul General Bix Aliu worked in Warsaw as Deputy Consul and Deputy Head of the Press and Culture Department of the U.S. Embassy.

Tsewang Namgyal paid his first official visit to Kraków to celebrate Holi, ancient Hindu festival of spring and colours, which has for several years been successfully organized by the Indo-Polish Cultural Committee at the Nowohuckie Centrum Kultury.

On Wednesday, 13^th March, Krakow was visited by Mr.Kevin Moran, the Minister whose responsibilities in the Government of the Republic of Ireland involve public works, flood relief and heritage sites. One of the main points of Minister Moran`s stay in our City was a study visit to Zabłocie.

On Monday, 18^th February 2019, Mayor of Krakow Jacek Majchrowski met with the new Ambassador of Ireland to Poland H.E. Emer O’Connell.

On Wednesday, January 23rd, Mayor of Krakow Jacek Majchrowski met First Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans.
