National Day of Belgium

On 21 July Belgians celebrate National Day commemorating the establishment of a constitutional monarchy.

On this day in 1831 King Léopold de Saxe-Cobourg took the oath and swore allegiance to the Constitution that had been ratified by the National Congress on 7 February 1831.
