Accommodation facilities during the World Youth Day
Below you can find information on accommodation facilities which will be made available to pilgrims.
Krakow offers facilities recorded in the registers kept by the Mayor of Krakow (uncategorised facilities) and the Marshal of the Małopolska Region (categorised facilities). The number of beds in facilities kept in both registers totals at ca. 34,000: about 17,000 in each register (as at 6 May 2016).
In total, the number of beds in the registers of accommodation facilities amounts to ca. 52 700.
The WYD Organising Committee booked 269 accommodation facilities, plots and areas owned by the Municipality of Krakow or the State. 191 contracts for making available sites or facilities were signed on 25 May 2016.
On 3 July 2015 the Mayor of Krakow signed the Regulation No. 1737/2015 accepting of the conclusion of contracts of lease of local government-run schools and facilities of the Municipality of Krakow during the World Youth Day Krakow 2016.
Around 60 000 pilgrims will be accommodated in 184 local-government-run schools and facilities from 24 July to 2 August 2016.
Eight camp sites able to accommodate 20 900 people were recorded in ”The register of accommodation facilities providing hotel services but not registered as hotels and camp sites in the area of the Municipality of Krakow” kept by the Mayor of Krakow.
