ul. Bracka, Kraków

A song by Grzegorz Turnau made this street popular among Poles. Short, cobbled and running between Wiślna and Grodzka, it leads from the Main Market Square to ul. Franciszkańska. It is slightly curved, which proves it’s pre-1257 Charter origin.

Bracka tempts with plenty of restaurants, cafés and pubs on both sides. In June, it celebrates its own festivity together with the neighbouring Gołębia street, marking a day of outdoor events, with nearly every vendor putting out a wine- or beergarden with a handful of tables.

Building No. 10 – Larisch Mansion was the seat of the mayors of the city until the Second World War, and currently belongs to the Jagiellonian University, while No. 15 is the address of Kraków Chamber of Tourism (KIT). Prowincja, a café that garnered cult status, used to operate in the street as well.
