Historical tramway depot

ul. Świętego Wawrzyńca 12-15, Kraków

It is a real curiosity, the only tramway depot from the times of Industrial Revolution completely preserved in Poland.

It was built in stages between the 19th and 20th centuries. It is comprised of horse tramway and electric tramway depots, horse stables (converted into an administrative and social back office) bus garages, a control room and a set of boiler rooms, generator rooms and an accumulator.

At the beginning of the 60s, the trams disappeared from the depot buildings, which from there on were used as bus garages and warehouses. Currently, some of the buildings contain the Museum of Municipal Engineering.
