ul. Krupnicza 26, 31-123 Kraków
Opening hours:

Monday: closed

Tuesday – Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The museum is located in the house at Krupnicza St. which Józef Mehoffer, one of the most outstanding Polish artists, bought in 1932 and furnished with stylish furniture, works of art and craftsmanship.

In 1986 the house, according to the will of the artist’s family, was granted to the national museum in Krakow. It was opened to the public in 1996. This unit, although devoted to the works of Mehoffer, is a museum of interiors, and gives an idea of life in a bourgeois house of the past century.

n the ground floor there are representative rooms, such as the parlour, and a large dining room, the place of official life of the inhabitants and their guests. On the first floor there are private rooms, filled with the same furniture, chandeliers, tapestries, clocks, books and works of art, including numerous works of Mehoffer. Deserving special attention is the so-called Japanese room, the furnishing of which is in line with the fashion during the Secession period for collecting items from the Far East.
