The Chapter of the AKP Program chose Patrons and Ambassadors of Polish Congresses 2020

Due to the epidemic, this year's voting of the Chapter of Ambassadors of Polish Congresses took place by correspondence. The votes were submitted to the Program Secretariat (PCB POT), and then collectively confirmed during the online meeting held on June 2 this year.

As a result of voting, the group of distinguished persons was expanded to include 21 new Ambassadors of Polish Congresses and four Patrons of Polish Congresses.

The program of Polish Congress Ambassadors is implemented jointly by the Polish Tourist Organization and a non-governmental organization - the Conferences and Congresses in Poland Association. Parallel to the Polish Congress Ambassadors Program, Local Congress Ambassador Clubs, which aim at supporting the world of science and industry organizations seeking to obtain international conferences and events to the cities and regions covered by the clubs, also operate.

The title of Ambassador of Polish Congresses is awarded to people who actively promote Poland as a place to organize meetings and conferences through active participation in international associations.

The condition of receiving the honorary title of the Ambassador of Congresses is obtaining at least one international event for Poland in the past 3 years and convincing the Chapter of its commitment to the promotion of Poland. Activities for the organization of events in Poland cannot, however, result directly from the candidate's professional duties.

Seventeen members of the ACP Chapter took part in the postal vote: https://www.pot.gov.pl/en/poland-convention/pcb-about-us/project-chapter

However, the Patron of Polish Congresses is a form of honoring and appreciating the role of a sponsor supporting an organized meeting or event.

Pursuant to the Regulations of the ACP Program, members of the ACP Chapter, organizational units of the Polish Academy of Sciences, universities and colleges, associations and scientific organizations, cultural institutions, economic and local government organizations, the Polish Tourist Organization, the "Conferences and Congresses in Poland" association, regional convention bureau and people previously honored with the title of the Ambassador of Polish Congresses have the right to submit candidates.

The Chapter of the ACP Program had a very difficult task, both due to the technical conduct of voting (no live meeting), as well as due to the level of candidates, which resulted in ex aequo positions and the extension of the final list. A similar situation was recorded in 2013.

Participants of the online meeting unanimously emphasized the uniqueness of this year's edition, for which 31 candidates were submitted in total.

Finally, the Chapter selected:

4 Patrons, emphasizing that in an era when events are supported with more restraint, the role of the sponsor is crucial and requires special recognition from the members of the Program Chapter,

The 21 new Ambassadors of Polish Congresses not only demonstrated the implementation of at least one international event for Poland in the last 3 years, but also acquired events for subsequent years and are committed to promoting Poland.

The title of the Patron of Polish Congresses this year went to:

FX Ekspert Marcin Wenus (Comparic.pl Investment Portal)
