Zakończył się remont i modernizacja pierwszej siedziby najstarszego narodowego muzeum na ziemiach polskich. Realizacja projektu "Nowe Sukiennice" trwała 3 lata i kosztowała niemal 40 milionów złotych. Galeria Sztuki Polskiej XIX wieku w Sukiennicach , tak jak przed remontem mieści się w 4 salach. Dzięki decyzji Prezydenta Krakowa, Jacka Majchrowskiego muzeum otrzymałao dodatkowe pomieszczenia na parterze Sukiennic.

Krakow and Nuremberg have more in common than the story of Wit Stwosz - an excellent German painter and sculpturer, whose masterpiece, the altarpiece of Saint Mary’s Church, was created in our city. The cooperation between Krakow and Nuremberg, initiated in medieval times, developed with time and now its intensity and scope are emblematic of European integration. The crowning achievement of the longstanding partnership was the establishment of the Nuremberg House in Krakow and the Krakow House in Nuremberg. These “cultural embassies” constitute a truly unique initiative. Walking the streets of Nuremberg we will ask its citizens about their krakovian inspirations and trying to capture the extraordinary atmosphere of the Krakow House we will attempt to rediscover the cultural richness of our city.

Modern thinking in ancient walls, a documentary produced by a Nuremberg based TV channel, is an attempt to capture the observations of our German neighbours made during their visit to Krakow. The German reporters present the every day life of the city through the eyes of a student investigating her Jewish roots, a successful artist and a taxi driver telling the city’s stories to tourists. It is thanks to their experiences and attitudes that the reporters get to know the city, which, preserving multiple traces of the past, breathes the spirit of modernity. The documentary offers a vision of Krakow as an amalgam of tradition and history with modernity and specific ambience, and as such is a perfect complement to the thirty anniversary of Krakow’s partner relations with Nuremberg.

Jedyny na świecie Odział Trębaczy Wieżowych znowu pod patronatem Miasta. Strażacy Komendy Miejskiej Państwowej Straży Pożarnej przejęli obowiązek odgrywania hejnału z wieży kościoła Mariackiego. Od 1992 roku hejnaliści podlegali Komendzie Wojewódzkiej PSP.Żeby podkreślić swój kunszt jeden ze strażaków zagrali na zabytkowej trąbce z Muzeum Historycznego Miasta Krakowa.
