Krakow and Malopolska Region

Małopolska and Kraków for Motorists

Małopolska, the region in the heart of Europe, whose capital city is located in Kraków, will enchant you with its diversity. The region's contribution to Poland's and Europe's cultural heritage is inestimable: numerous historical sights and museums, as many as 8 sites listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as well as beautiful historical cities and towns are only an appetizer in comparison with its full offer

Naturally, the historical city centre of Kraków, with its medieval street plan preserved until today, the Royal Route, St Florian Gate and Wawel Royal Castle is the genuine gem on the UNESCO Route of Małopolska.

A great number of thematic routes will lead a traveller through the world of traditions dating back to medieval times. Numerous footpaths and bicycle paths cross the sites where the fortunes of the Poles, Jews and Lemkos intertwined. The castles and fortresses on the Trail of the Eagles' Nests create a remarkable cultural landscape. The scent of larches and spruces wafts over the entire region encouraging the exploration of the Wooden Architecture Route, which is unique on a world scale. This suitable for motorists trail leads to the most beautiful and valuable corners of Małopolska: historical Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches, mansions and villas.

Well-developed road infrastructure provides the opportunity for motorized tourists to travel freely - Małopolska and Kraków invite them for relaxation and discovery of the region's charms.

The project has been carried out together with the Małopolskie Voivodeship as part of Hospitable Małopolska, an open competition for the best tourist offers, and with the financial aid of Municipality of Kraków.
