Church of St Joseph and the Convent of Bernardine Nuns

ul. Poselska 21, 31-002 Kraków

A Baroque church built in 17th/18th century in the place of the Tęczyński family mansion for the Bernardine Nuns who arrived here from another convent in the district of Stradom. Rebuilt after a fire in the mid-19th-century, it is a modest, single-nave building. Within, the eye is attracted to a figure of the Infant Jesus (transferred from the demolished convent of the Colettine Poor Clares in Stradom).

The buildings of the monastic complex adjacent to the church surround two internal cloisters. The compound developed from the merging and expansion of earlier structures, including the mansions of the Pieniążek, Lanckoroński, and Tarło families. The preserved Renaissance arcaded courtyard is what remains of the Lanckoroński mansion.
