ul. Kanonicza, Kraków

Many find it the most beautiful street in the Old Kraków. Parallel to Grodzka, it connects Senacka to Podzamcze streets, leading straight to the foot of Wawel Hill.

It used to be a part of the Royal Route, and was flanked by the houses of the canons of the Kraków Cathedral Chapter. It is a charming corner, especially in the evening, when the Gothic, Renaissance, and Mannerist mansions are joyously lit.

The house of Jan Długosz (No. 25) at the mouth of Kanonicza by Wawel Hill, Mansion of Bishop Erazm Ciołek (No. 17, currently a branch of the National Museum), and the Archdiocesan Museum (Nos 19 and 21) command special attention. Górka Mansion at No. 24 is home to the offices of the Civic Committee for Restoration of Kraków Heritage (SKOZK), and No. 16 in turn is the Copernicus Hotel, one of the most exclusive in the city.
