House at number 10 Felicjanek Street

ul. Felicjanek 10, Kraków

The house was inhabited by the family of Janusz Kydryński, Karol Wojtyła's friend from the university.

In a difficult time after the death of his father (in 1941), Karol Wojtyła lived with them for several months, although he had visited the place several times before (him and his father spent the Christmas Eve of 1940 with the family).

John Paul II frequently mentioned the house in his statements: "It was in that time that the Kydryński family showed me the most care and their friendship was a great help to me (as cited in: Jan Paweł II, Autobiografia, Wydawnictwo Literackie, Kraków 2005).
