The Carpenters’ Tower

The Carpenters’ Tower was constructed in the 14th and thoroughly rebuilt in the 15th century. It stands on a tall, square, limestone foundation. The hexagonal tower covered with a pavilion roof has square and rectangular embrasures for shooting from. It provided cover for the Arsenal and the Piarist Church, and – together with the Swordmakers’ Tower, which was demolished in the 19th century, also the defences for Sławkowska Gate.
