The house in which the famous Polish painter, Jan Matejko, was born, lived and created, is now the home of Poland’s oldest biographical museum, dedicated to the life and activities of the artist.

His paintings are evocations of the most important events in Poland’s history.

For over 100 years, the Museum has been collecting artifacts related to his artistic and pedagogical work, as well as his passion for collecting, presenting objects linked with the culture of Poland, Europe and the Far East.
