Cyrano de Bergerac – live broadcast from Teatro Real Madrid. Originally based on Edmond Rostand’s 1897 play, ‘Cyrano de Bergerac’ is an opera in four acts, performed in French. The lead role of Cyrano himself is played by opera sensation, Plácido Domingo, whose portrayal of the French classic is considered as one of his very best. The role has earned him an outstanding 12 Grammy Awards, and now - at age 71 - the internationally renowned Spanish tenor and conductor still steals the show with his depiction of the life of Cyrano de Bergerac: the extraordinarily charming man, with a ‘larger than life’nose.
